Stepping Stones

Friday sessions at Puddleducks Pre-School are known as Stepping Stones. They are slightly more formal and help ease the transition from Pre-School to Reception at Primary School.

Children usually begin to attend Stepping Stones when they reach their fourth birthday, but if we have spaces, we do consider children who are three years and six months old. This is at the discretion of the staff, since not all three years and six month olds are ready for a more structured session.

We offer all day sessions, morning sessions or afternoon sessions. If your child joins us for the morning or the afternoon, they are also able to stay for lunch club.

The sessions are carefully structured to develop the skills the children will need to thrive in a school environment. The children are encouraged to listen carefully to instructions and to begin to take some responsibility for carrying out and completing activities.
